This all sounds great and I was a perfectionist housekeeper before I had kids but give me some tips other than above if you homeschool and the kids are with you 24/7? And have a special needs autistic child and 4 year old. Any suggestions? No time for the above on set days... Papers are piling up, even though I have designated baskets and bins and under the bed boxes for them... So, I am up for ideas but the above does not work with the little time I have... Oh, and did I say we don't buy fast food as I have to cook every meal since we are on a special diet for my daughter and of course for us it is healthier... Not complaining, it is what it is... But spend most my time preparing food when I am not homeschooling or doing laundry... I get at my wits end and drained of energy every time I see paper piles (list and papers and books for my autistic daughter) and the piles and bags my 4 year old likes to put her toys in... always seems like everything is out of place... And I am an organizer... not a messie... hmmmm????? Maybe I am still wanting a house that looks like Country home magazine with kids and am delirious?? :-) I am exhausted... :-) Thanks!!!

This is a great idea. I cant wait to try it out with the kids. They have the hardest time with their rooms, and I know they try. I may try it with my bedroom too, it always winds up being a storage room. Thanks.

I am an activist for family rights. I cannot emphasize enough the importance of keeping a clean house. The chances are high that someone will call CPS and report the conditions. Especially if there are quite a few children involved. It is a removable offense in their eyes. Now, it would make a whole lot more sense to me to keep the kids in the home and provide services that would teach the family skills to keep the home clean, but then I am not the state government looking for Federal dollars that come out of my fast depleting Social Security money.

LOL are you sure we weren't the same child? I totally remember sitting in my room for hours trying to clean it up and getting so distracted by anything I picked up. And then I got in trouble for not cleaning it. NO FUN. I hope I can give my kids the tools to be better room cleaners (and better housekeepers) than I was/am!

Your post was written on my birthday, and i too, have struggled (am struggling) with being messy. I have 6 children and live a small house. We have problems with cleanliness. Flylady was just too much for me (someone who is just messy for some reason), but this seems possible to do for me and the children.

This is an absolutely wonderful idea. I think this will really help my son keep his bedroom tidy. It's so easy to get overwhelmed, and I'm afraid he's inherited the messies from me. LOL Keep up the great work! I've been coming to this site off and on for at least 4 years now, and I know y'all have helped me alot. Thanks for everything!
