Thank you for this site my house is such a mess, I have to deal with cps on a monthly basis so this site really helps. I have a husband who loves to trash our house. I can clean our living room and just be ready to start on the kitchen when he decides to find something ( cd to install his printer right now) and he rips our living room into the worst mess that you can imagine. Then he does the same thing to every single room into our house until I have a huge issue cleaning the house. He says hat he will clean up his mess but the never does and when I start to clean his mess up he literally takes everything and pushes it onto the floor. I need HELP cause we are trying to bring our 8 month old daughter home from his father's house who is being forced into taking care of her until our caseworker decides that the house is just right for her to live in. I want to cry but I can't cause I am cleaning almost every single day of the week while being pregnant again and both of us looking for work and trying to pay the bills and afford gas in our car... etc If there is anyone who can tell me how to clean a 2 bedroom, 1 bathroom, living room, kitchen/dining/laundry area, and a extra bedroom that is converted into a gosh awful storage room. Please tell me. I will try these tips and see how they work. I also don't have a oven or dishwasher so the putting dirty dishes does not work for us.Sorry fo going on like this. Thanks if you read this.

A disaster just occured at my home. My husband and I are housesitting for a friend. My husband went home yesterday after being away for 5 days. The hose to our washer popped flooding our basement. Bad enough right???

Well, the laundry area, alone with the rest of my house, is a total mess. So with the flooding you can just imagine.

My husband is now furious with me. My mess has compounded the clean up.

He often says that my inability to maintain the house is taking years off his life. I just can't get it together.

I'm hoping the advice on this site will help.

On top of all this, in all the confusion our cat got outside and is missing.

Just looking through the post, and dang it I was doing the same thing last year nearly to the date! LOL. Well, some things never change. So, 364 days later, getting ready to do the emergency clean. It's really my weekly cleaning and I added a few short steps. My first step is a quick vac or sweep of floors so that if I get them wet, stuff doesn't stick and make extra work. Then I'm off to step one, spray the toilet and sink! :^)

Thanks, Jenne, for keeping this site up. By the way, I'm halfway through my Masters program! :^)

Love to you all! --Dodie

Congrats, Nancy! If you can afford it, I suggest going to a home store and getting the contractor trash bags. They are made for construction sites, and can really handle the mess. BTW, hang in there and do the emergency clean first. It helps! :^) email me if you want!
